Online Security Training

Since there are almost 500,000 global workers, and only approximately 70,000 from America and Europe, there needs to be more access to security training that is affordable.

Security in 2017 - Risk Management is what is needed to be proactive and thrive in challenging areas. Even though it is dated to 2017, if you do not have a robust risk management plan and work in high-risk, this 2-minute summary explains succinctly what is needed even for 2023 and beyond.

Surviving Disaster Training - doesn't have videos but has a lot of excellent and comprehensive information on all sorts of disasters one may face in cross-cultural situations.

I've compiled You tube links below that anyone can watch anywhere in the world and learn how to be equipped with avoiding and surviving threats. While online training won't provide the "stress inoculation" that in-person security training gives, there is some excellent information in these videos. I tried to pick videos between 5 minutes and 15 minutes in length.

1. Security Awareness Training
2. Stress Inoculation Training - an Overview
3. 14-Self-Defense Tips That May Save Your Life

Please note - that when marketplace bombs go off, very often a secondary bomb is also set to go off as soon as people rush to help those injured by the 1st bomb.  In Afghanistan, that is how the attackers are able to kill many many civilians and civil servants. See this post on what to do when a bomb goes off.

26. Survival Mindset - 4 Steps to Survive a Violent Encounter - a 39-minute video but well done by a security consultant in Virginia.

See the Global Risk Resource Document at the top of the Risk Resource page.
