THANK YOU!
We had a great class of participants from around the world attend the pilot project of the Masterclass (Feb-May 2025). I’m so grateful to all of you for your contributions, questions, comments - we learned together and refined the contents of this class and how it is presented. Thanks everyone for your amazing endorsements (below)! I will also be adding more in-depth Bible studies on some of the topics, so do check back to the Shrewdness Resource page from time to time.
Gratefully,
Anna
ENDORSEMENTS:
"This is a powerful course to raise awareness for both the practical skills of risk and crisis management, the soft skills needed to implement them, and the thought patterns and theology that undergird all of this."
“There is no way to over-value the content of this course as it gives both the individual on the ground and the leaders at the organizational level tools to better traverse this often difficult, undefined, and multifaceted field of risk and persecution. The biblical discussion on facing fear and moving toward mature courage, as well as the concept of shrewdness in witness risk, were absolutely invaluable. These topics, along with the others, were directly applicable in my role as Security Advisor/Crisis Manager; several were even immediately applicable to my everyday life as well. I cannot recommend this course highly enough!”
“I would want everyone I'm in a team with to do this course, plus also at least one of the trustees or someone responsible for sending to do it before sending others.”
“A training course that thoroughly equips you, not just for the practical risk battle, but the spiritual risk battle too!”
“Truly, this has been such an amazing course - more than I could have imagined! It has spoken to me and the experience I have gone through immensely. I have been so encouraged not just in the practical ways of risk, but the spiritual ways. I love your continued focus on the Holy Spirit, listening to him, etc. It resonates with my heart so much but hearing it in this context is just so refreshing and, unfortunately, ignored in wider settings. When telling my pastor about this course he said...what a weird mix faith and risk management!! But wow, what a brilliant one, so thank you.”
“Certainly an essential course to anyone looking to go to more risky areas.”
“Every class was excellent and well worth my investment of time. From the very beginning, I started to utilize the content with our field workers as the content in this course is very practical. I appreciated that Dr. Hampton first began with definitions of important words and concepts to know and then gave the Biblical rationale of why it was important to know them and how to apply these skills in risk environments, e.g. what it means to be shrewd, and the importance of becoming antifragile to help one persevere and grow under duress.”
“I personally believe top leadership and everyone helping or living in an area where there is instability and potential threat to life be further equipped to empower themselves and others to intelligently analyze a risk event. There needs to be an awareness of the necessity of risk management before a crisis management team is called in, so that people on the field can articulate to the CMT how they’ve arrived at a decision that is in conflict with the leadership.”
Masterclass on Shrewdness (2025)
“Cultivating Holy Spirit-led shrewdness and endurance in risk for Gospel advancement where Christ is not known.”
How can we become practically shrewd yet innocent like
Jesus commanded us in Matthew 10:16,
especially in hostile situations?
